Your Co-op went to school!
As part of the Bexley Natural Market’s community outreach initiative, manager Annerose Schaffrin and members of her staff visited Berwick Elementary School to support the Eat Like a Caveman Program. This program is teaching grade school children about healthful eating by bringing a fun twist to the subject. Here’s what some of the children had to say about the visit:“Thank you for coming to are[sp] school. The millet salad was good but the rhubarb was great.”
“What I liked…was the rhubarb…it’s better than my mom’s homemade spaghetti…don’t tell her that.”
“I liked the rhubarb…It remind[ed] me of my grandma’s last recipe she made.”
“Could you please send me a recipe for the smoothies?”
Once again, Bexley Natural Market’s participation in the Bexley community’s Fourth of July parade was a huge success and a lot of fun – as you can see from the smiles on these happy volunteers. We walked, we talked, we passed out candy – and we were warmly received by all the folks along the route.
