Ingredients:
½ cup basmati rice
½ cup mung dahl (you can substitute with red lentils)
1 tablespoon ghee
1 cup vegetables like carrots, beets, zucchini, mushrooms
2 cups water or broth
1 tablespoon spice combination: cumin, ginger, turmeric, fennel, coriander
¼ cup chopped basil or other fresh herbs
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Heat pot and add ghee to melt
Add vegetables, stir for a few minutes
Add rice and lentils, spices and herbs, stir to combine well
Add broth
Cover to simmer for about 15-20 mins
Adjust liquid as desired (more if you like it to be more soupy)
